Today we introduce you to Jordan Bentley's Hypland, a brand enrolled on the Streetwear: Mastered program. Based out of LA, despite being just nineteen, Jordan's clothes already have a strong aesthetic that is uniquely his.

We were blown away by Hypland and couldn't wait to see what the brand does on the program, so we caught up with Jordan to hear his story so far, what inspires his brand, and what he hopes to gain from the Streetwear: Mastered program. Read the full interview below:

How long has your brand been going?

I started the brand in 2012.

What's been the most difficult part of starting your brand?

I would say the most difficult part about starting a brand was finding the right resources to produce everything that I designed in the beginning. Product placement is also pretty difficult. It's not super easy getting your stuff in the hands of those with influence.

And the most rewarding?

As far as most rewarding, I would say it's been the customer reaction and support. I love being able to go somewhere in Los Angeles, or almost anywhere for that matter, and see someone wearing something that I designed. It’s tight knowing that kids all around the world like the stuff that I make.

What are you hoping to get out of the Streetwear: Mastered program?

I'm hoping to build strong relationships with new people and expand my network. I'm also looking to receive some advice and learn from the different industry leaders to see how they got to where they are today.

What most interested you about the Streetwear: Mastered program?

What interested me most were the people involved with the program and the companies partnering with the program. It seemed like a great learning and building opportunity.

Will there come a point for you when you feel like you've truly 'made it' as a designer?

I like growth, but I don't know what that ‘I made it’ point would be. There’s always room for growth and improvement.

Could you sum up your brand ethos in 10 words?

“We make cool clothes for you and your friends to wear.”

Why did you enrol on the Streetwear: Mastered program?

To learn from industry leaders and build strong relationships which I hope will propel my brand towards a positive direction.

What do you want to achieve in the next five years?

In the next five years, I want to still be alive and relevant! I’m more focused on laying the foundation right now.

What are you most excited about on the program?

I'm most excited about being able to learn from leaders and to be given the opportunity to study the game. Knowledge is power.
